Middleton Wisconsin has received a lot of national attention recently after being named Money Magazine's Best Place to Live in the United States. Those of us who live in Dane County Wisconsin recognize that we are blessed with a number of wonderful suburban communities. Middleton is certainly one of those communities. With close proximity to Madison, the location provides a very short drive for those travelling to the capital city. But make no mistake about it, Middleton prides itself in maintaining a remarkable but seperate identity from Madison. The employment picture in Middleton is favorable with many jobs in the high tech and pharmaceutical/medical industries. The schools are regarded as very good, the streets are safe and the outdoor environment is quite nice as well, with an abundance of green spaces, parks,conservancy areas,and recreational opportunities such as bike trails, and sailing on Lake Mendota. There is an excellent small brewery, the Capital Brewery, and several interesting restaurants and shops in the downtown area. Middleton is also the home of the American Girl doll company. Middleton boasts small town charm and provides a pretty awesome package for a city of about 17,000.
